We have role play time in our schedule that children can play the role of their favorite character and express their emotions and we are frequently talking about emotions during everyday conversations.
Facilitating them to Deal with Challenging Emotions
Everyone having a mood swings and in early childhood this is very common children can get happy and angry very fast definitely. No one can feels happy all the time so the spring fields team is specially working with children to learn how to deal with challenging emotions like if they are feeling angry it means to sit calmly and think about it and provide them opportunity to talk about their emotions and teach them about problem solving skills through modeling.
Through Positive Self-Talk
Spring Fields’ Nursery is supporting your children social and emotional development is to encourage self talk. This means first of all child learn how to behave and kind to themselves even its ok to make mistake some time we need to forgive our self and try again.
It is important to develop tolerance in children in early years. We are helping your kids to have successful future that they need to be able to work others. They need to not to be afraid, to step outside their comfort zone and to understand, learn, respect and appreciate others.
Tolerance is not about accepting bad behaviour, but accepting “people” for who they are and treating those how “you” wish to be treated. We are reminding them of this consistently.
Use Encouragement and Positive Reinforcement
Encouraging and supporting your child’s social and emotional development is important, but it is also important to use positive reinforcement. This means rewarding your child when they display positive social and emotional behaviors. For example, you might give them a hug or praise them when they share their toys with others.
Repeat, Again and Again
There are many benefits of repetition in early childhood, as it helps children to learn and remember new information more effectively. Repetition also helps children to feel more comfortable and confident when using new skills. This means that it is important to provide opportunities for your child tao practice social and emotional skills on a daily basis.
